Moscow could be named as a capital of theatre, there are almost one hundred theatres in town.

The most notable one, of course, is The Bolshoi Theare but big names such as: the Maly Theater , Moscow Art Theater named after A.Chekhov, Lenkom , Sovremennik , Theater of Satire are very popular among Muscovites. All performances, except ballet and opera of course, are in Russian, if you are not familiar with Russian language it would be difficult to enjoy them. Moscow government have launched a project to introduce English and German subtitles, as a running line, in selected performances but unfortunately the project is not completed yet.
