Museon Park

Park of Arts Museon, founded in 1992, is one of the biggest open-air museums of sculpture in Russia. Its collection includes unique monuments of Soviet epoch (1930-50s). The monuments to Dzerzhinskiy and Gorky by Evgeniy Vuchetich and Ilya Shadr were the most outstanding works. Museon is a specific museum-workshop, where park sculptures have been made of limestone during symposiums since 2000. Both famous masters and students participated in the symposiums of various themes. 
Today Museon actively exposes modern sculptors, completes its collections with plein-air paintings and materials from photographic expositions, modern art-objects and video-art materials. 
Museon is especially beautiful in summer when all the features of its unique landscape are visible.
